Donald Trump is expected to wrap up his visit to Qatar and continue on to the United Arab Emirates as planned. During his stop in Qatar on May 14 (local time), Trump signed several cooperation agreements covering trade, defense, and other areas. Notably, Boeing secured $200 billion in orders, with Qatar set to purchase 160 aircraft.
That same day, Trump attended a state banquet hosted by Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. At the event, he called on Iran’s leadership to “take action” to avoid the risk of direct conflict and urged Qatar to leverage its influence to help facilitate a U.S.-Iran agreement.
Also on May 14, Trump met with Syrian regime leader Ahmad Shara in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia—marking the first meeting between a U.S. president and a Syrian leader in 25 years. Trump indicated that the U.S. is considering reestablishing normal diplomatic relations with Syria. A day earlier, during another event in Riyadh, he announced plans to lift sanctions on the country.","images":["https://d2kdcqywr8ua22.cloudfront.net/uploadfile/article/blog/2025052025/05/15/59264a56e65a4f1280ec805125374876.png"],"tags":[],"tradingPairs":[],"quotearticleid":0}
