Before you click "Buy" or "Sell," ask yourself these 5 critical questions—your account will thank you.
1. Why Am I Entering? (The Reason Must Be Clear)
✅ Valid Reasons:
RSI under 30 (oversold) + MACD crossing up + price above 200MA
Strong support bounce with volume spike
Breaking key resistance with confirmation candle
❌ Bad Reasons:
"It feels like it’ll pump"
"Someone on Twitter said so"
"I’m bored and want action"
2. Where’s My Stop Loss? (Risk First!)
Place it below support (for longs) or above resistance (for shorts).
Calculate risk: Never risk more than 1-2% of your account per trade.
Example: If support is at $100, set stop at $95 (5% downside).
3. What’s My Target? (Take Profit Logic)
Aim for at least 2:1 reward-to-risk (e.g., 10% upside vs. 5% stop loss).
Use resistance levels (for longs) or support levels (for shorts) as targets.
Trail stops if the trend stays strong.
4. What’s the Market Condition?
Trending market? Trade with the trend (buy dips in uptrends, sell rallies in downtrends).
Ranging market? Buy low, sell high—don’t force breakout trades.
High volatility? Widen stops to avoid getting stopped out by noise.
5. Am I Following My Plan? (No Deviations!)
If the trade hits your stop, accept it and move on. No revenge trading.
If it hits your target, take profit. Don’t get greedy.
Journal the trade afterward: Did your thesis play out? What can you learn?
Final Rule: Patience Wins
The best traders sit on their hands 90% of the time. Wait for your setup—not just any setup.
"Be fearful when others are greedy, and greedy when others are fearful." — Warren Buffett (yes, even in crypto).
