The reserve is currently valued at around $15–20 billion. He also stated that gold will continue to be kept as a store of value and is unlikely to be revalued. The Strategic Bitcoin Reserve was established by Trump in March 2025 based on the 198,022 BTC held by the government, with a directive to acquire more through budget-neutral means. However, several reporting deadlines for federal agencies have passed without public disclosure of results.
