{"content":"Ripple Strikes Big 🌊 – Seals Deal With Southeast Asia’s Largest Bank Ripple, DBS, and Franklin Templeton have partnered to deliver tokenized money market funds and stablecoin-based liquidity to DBS Digital Exchange (DDEx) to meet institutional demand for on-chain yield and credit. Largest Southeast Asian Bank Uses Ripple Tech DDEx will list Franklin Templeton's sgBENJI, the token of the Franklin Onchain US Dollar Short-Term Money Market Fund, and Ripple's RLUSD, allowing eligible clients to swap between a yield-bearing fund token and a stable unit of account 24/7 under a memorandum of understanding signed on September 18. Franklin Templeton, a pioneer in tokenized funds, will launch sgBENJI on the XRP Ledger to improve network interoperability. Franklin Templeton head of digital assets Roger Bayston hailed the partnership “a meaningful advancement in the utility of tokenized securities” and “a significant step forward in the growth of Asia’s digital asset ecosystem.” Nigel Khakoo, Ripple's VP and global head of trading and markets, highlighted the capital-markets aspect, saying the link-up to “enable repo trades for a tokenized money market fund” with RLUSD “is truly a game-changer.” Ripple president Monica Long placed the news in the tokenization discussion, noting that real-world assets must be tradable and useful. Tokenized financial assets require liquid secondary markets and utility (such collateralization) to address their stated issues. Ripple, DBS, and FTI are aiming toward that with this announcement, she wrote via X. The mechanism is for institutional portfolio management. Accredited investors on DDEx may easily rebalance from volatile crypto exposures to a stable, yield-accruing fund token by listing sgBENJI and RLUSD side by side. Scale alone makes DBS a significant venue.
