Central banks are buying unprecedented amounts of gold 🏦🥇
• Central banks around the world purchased the equivalent of +830 tons of gold on an annualized basis in 2025. 📈
• During the first half of 2025 alone, 23 countries increased their gold reserves. 🌍
• This year, central banks are on track to purchase double the annual average recorded during 2011–2021 for the fourth consecutive year.
• This comes after central banks bought +1,080 tons in 2022, and +1,051 tons in 2023, and +1,089 tons in 2024. 📊
• The year 2025 puts central banks on track to achieve the sixteenth consecutive year of net purchases making it the longest recorded streak to date.
• Before 2010, central banks were net sellers of gold for 21 consecutive years.
